A Parker outer row stargazer off of a Hunter's Pride Machine. Hand carved around 1920. This horse was purchased at a sale in the 1980's in Tampa where the entire machine was sold one piece at a time, right off the machine. On the romance side, just look at the detail of the fring along the saddle blanket and breast plate. He has the striped saddle blanket and the triangular blanket with tassels and fringe, with a high back saddle. On the front side under the breastplate is an upsidedown leaflike or fleur de lis type carved decoration. There is some evedence there might have been jewels in the breastplate, have not stripped it down yet. He has all 4 of his original metal shoes, marked C.W.Parker, Leavenworth, Kansas The expressive glass eyes seem to be looking at you and make the horse more alive. A traveler size carousel horse measuring: 37" tall, 62" long, 10" wide. This antique horse is "in work" being restored and is available for sale.
