Just arrived, this great horse has been in storange since 1989. He has had a few bumps and bruses in the warehouse moves, and we are in the process of repairing is broken legs. We will have many more details and photos for you .....he is truly a wonderful horse!!! Carmel Borelli Standers are some of the rarest horses to come up for sale... This Full sized Outer Row Stander, head positon is a Stargazer. He has glass eyes, horse hair tail, and many jewels. Carved circa 1910-1920 in the Carmel factory in Coney Island , New York. He has a beautiful characteristic wind blown mane, scalloped Breast collar, scrolls and fringes, and lots of jewels. Borelli was a carousel owner and frame maker, who purchased many of Carmels horses and carousel, and had the jewels placed on because he believed it enhanced the horses. He measures..... We are now tracing his history, he came out of the Henderson Collection of California, and is pictured in issue Number 4 of "Carrousel Art", featuring the work of the Charles Carmel Company.
